Hotel Casa 425
Green Octopus Consulting handles the media relations for this boutique hotel, which opened in Claremont, California, in September 2007. We enjoy publicizing that the hotel is located a convenient three-block stroll from the train station and in the center of the city’s pedestrian-friendly downtown village – not to mention that it offers guests free bikes to explore the city and gourmet vegan muffins from the town’s popular bakery.
Claremont
Museum of Art
Green Octopus Consulting managed all publicity efforts for the April
2007 opening of the Claremont Museum of Art, including the marketing
strategy, media efforts and other publicity programs.
We continue to direct its media
relations and publicize its location within a renovated citrus packinghouse that includes many green features. Recent coverage has included L.A. Times reviews, a “Visiting…With
Huell Howser” show, and two, four-day segments run on CNN Headline
News.
Figueroa
Corridor Partnership Business Improvement District
Green Octopus Consulting handles all of the marketing needs for the
Figueroa Corridor Partnership, a Los Angeles business improvement district
linking downtown to Exposition Park. We produce the organization’s
quarterly newsletter
and manage its media relations, website, and other publicity efforts.
Urban
Place Consulting Group, Inc.
Urban Place is a place-making and BID consulting firm. We researched
and wrote the paper From
Open Spaces to Vital Places, which argues that good management of
urban parks, versus simply good design, is the key to their success.
We also produced several of the company’s business proposals,
as well as newsletters and other communication pieces for its geographically
diverse client base, from North Hollywood, California, to Providence,
Rhode Island.
ExhibitQ
Green Octopus Consulting wrote “CSI: Crime Scene Insects,”
a museum exhibit about the field of forensic entomology, produced by
exhibit company ExhibitQ. Our narrative text accompanies the visual
elements of this large and interactive show and describes the history
and current uses of the discipline. We had the honor of working with
Curator Dr. M. Lee Goff, the top forensic entomologist in the nation
who trains the CIA and FBI and is a consultant for the television show
“CSI.” The exhibit, which is largely green in its design and transport, has been traveling throughout North America
natural history museums and science centers since 2003.
Ecoshack
Ecoshack is a green design lab specializing in environmental design,
green corporate branding, and the architectural design of temporary
and permanent spaces. We helped publicize the company's green creative
offsite facility in Joshua Tree as well as its international Green Tent
Competition through a targeted mailing to eco-minded U.S. businesses
and corporations.
South Coast Publishing, Inc.
Green Octopus Consulting contributes articles on green business, urban
planning, architecture, and the arts for the Long Beach Business Journal
and Destinations magazine.
